Three Techniques to Revive Your Energy and Make Space for New Growth

When I hear the birds happily singing in the morning, it feels like spring to me. I can feel the Earth coming to life, nature beginning to come awake just as we bring ourselves back to awakeness from meditation or a Reiki session. It’s not that Earth is asleep during Winter; she is doing many things behind the scenes to prepare and bring new life to the Spring season. This sense of awakening happens both within us and around us.
In this blog, I’ll share with you how to clear your energy, what that means exactly, and techniques you can do to help each day flow a bit easier.
Energetic Health
How we feel has a lot to do with the energy flowing through our bodies. How a physical space feels also relates to the energy it holds. Energy naturally flows through our bodies so clearing our physical bodies and spaces helps the energy release and flow easier.
hold it in our bodies as we navigate day-to-day life.
Imagine a white river of energy flowing through your body… from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. That river flows easily, but we sometimes create dams that cause our energy to reroute when we don’t process, let go of or express the emotions associated with our experiences. Our beautiful white river becomes rerouted… never flowing quite as good as the original path.
Technique: The easiest way to get energy moving on the go is to pause, close your eyes and take a long, deep breath. It helps me to put my hand on my heart at the same time. It creates a sense of connection for me.
Physical Space
Physical Spaces have energy, and we exchange energy with the space and the items in the space. This also includes the people you’re around.
To clear your physical space, remove dead plants or wilting flowers. Remove any physical decor that brings up feelings of sadness, hatred or guilt. Clear out the cobwebs, dust in the corners, tidy up to bring a sense of freshness to the energy.

Walking around a room while burning sage or palo santo with the intention of clearing the space is a good way to refresh the energy within a room. As an added bonus, slightly opening a window can help give that energy you’re wanting to clear a place to exit.
Anytime you feel frustrated, confused, or angry, clearing your physical body with sage and palo santo can help reset your energy and bring you back to peace.
Technique:
I open a window within the space I want to clear.
While stating my intention to clear the space I walk around the room burning sage in and around the space to remove any energy that no longer belongs.
I follow next with palo santo. I state my intention to bring in love, light, peace and protection into my physical body and the space around me.
I end with a spritzer of clary sage, juniper berry, patchouli and water to cleanse the space and bring it into connection. It acts as a collaborator to bring the space in balance.
All three aren’t necessary and using just one of these can greatly improve the feel and energy of your space.
Grounding
Walking or putting your hands or feet onto the earth is a great technique called grounding. Grounding creates an exchange and a relationship between your physical body with the physical earth.
feel a sense of love, trust and support.
As a bonus, you can imagine tree roots coming from the bottom of your feet into the earth to help you feel calm and rooted into the earth to allow her to comfort you.
Technique: Take a break more often, get up from your computer or work zone, and step outside. Allow your bare feet to connect to the earth. Let the sun shine on you—feel the wind blow, whispering softly on your skin and through your hair. Close your eyes and take deep breaths. Nature is very therapeutic to our bodies.
Plants
Plants that purify the air can help assist in cleaning the air consistently. The Washington Post says plants can boost our mood and bring more peace in less than 20 minutes of being around them.
According to Sunset.com, the plants below not only help clean the air but offer good benefits to our moods.

Here are some examples of plants that can change the energy of your space:
- Peace Lily – Cleans the air of harsh toxins, brings serenity and helps humidify the air
- Spider Plant – Good at fighting pollutants and reducing stress
- Gerbera Daisy – Cleans the air, and bright colors lighten our mood
- Golden Pothos – Clears the air and helps lighten a heavy mood
Crystals
Crystal stones can also help shift the energy of a space, including your physical body. Place them within the room and wear them in your pockets(or bra!) can really change the tone and feel of a space.

Crystals that help with purifying and clearing energy:
- Black tourmaline – Clears out negative energy and helps protect
- Selenite – Great stone to cleanse a space but also elevates a space and brings in more joy
- Orange Calcite – Clears energy but also brings in feelings of comfort, security and ease
New Beginnings
After the resting period of winter comes new life. New beauty… the renewing of the Earth and all she bears. With the physical signs of Spring, we often feel this nudge to clear out clutter and refresh our spaces.
