A one hour Reiki session is non-invasive and treats the whole person including body, emotions and mind creating relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. It can encourage one to let go of tension, guilt, anxiety, fear or other negative feelings and unwanted life situations.
When you arrive we will sit and talk and I’ll ask questions to learn more about how you’re feeling, any particular issues you’re experiencing and what you hope to achieve from your session.
Once we’re ready to get started you’ll lay on your back on a comfy massage table, fully clothed and snuggled up warm under a blanket with your shoes off. Comfortable clothing is suggested. Your job is to close your eyes, relax and take deep breaths to let the energy flow work for you. I will place my hands directly on or right above certain energy points throughout your body starting at your head or your feet. None of the points are intrusive. You could feel a warming sensation or tingling or nothing at all but pure relaxation. You could also feel tense or uncomfortable over certain points if you’re energy is blocked in that area. Let me know if that occurs and we can work through it. If you prefer not to be touched please let me know before we begin.
Toxins that have been stored in the body can be released during a session and sometimes a person can experience a headache, stomach ache or an increase in emotions. If this happens, it’s a good idea to lean in to the emotions and allow them to release. After our session you should drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process so this is a good sign.
The session should be very pleasant, relaxing and invigorating. Afterwards, I may let you know of anything that came up during our session and get your feedback. If any words, visions or visitors came to mind during your Reiki session, write them down. We’ll talk briefly and you’ll be set to go.
It can take some time for your body to process the Reiki. You may feel emotional for the next couple of weeks but often times you feel much lighter and balanced. Drink plenty of water the rest of the day.
