How to Show Yourself Love All Year Long: A Journey with Energy Healing

The truth was. . . between work deadlines and errands and nurturing everyone else’s needs, my own self-care was the first thing pushed off until later. When I’m utterly depleted, how can I pour into others?

As a Reiki practitioner, I’ve learned firsthand that we all require continuous self-nourishment. It’s an ongoing journey – but small, intentional energy healing moments throughout the day make ripples of difference.
As BetterHelp shows us – drinking water each day, singing or dancing can even support our wellbeing. Personally, each night I take a few moments in bed with the quiet of darkness and take deep breaths, showing appreciation for the day and asking to be cleared of what is not serving me and my family any longer.
Ideas to support yourself throughout the year
Start by taking just 5 minutes alone, in a quiet space to think about what will support you right now, in this season of your life.
Create and repeat uplifting mantras like “I nourish myself with patience and light” or “I have peace within” or “I choose to see through the eyes of love”.
Write about what you want to feel and what you want. I brought my current office to life through writing and speaking out loud what I wanted instead. Even micro-practices like this add up and make a huge difference!
Or step outside shoeless, feet embraced by soft grass or dirt – this simple ‘earthing’ connects us to the healing vibration of Earth, just as calming walks awaken new directions for thought leaders like Oprah. While immersed in the trees around you as guides, inhale serenity for 6 counts, exhale tension for 6.
